About Chicago Cannabis Company®

Chicago Cannabis Company® was founded in 2018, following the federal legalization of Cannabis containing less than 0.3% THC. The 2018 Farm Bill marked a new chapter in the U.S. Cannabis industry, which effectively legalized all Cannabinoids extracted from the Cannabis plant (so long as that plant has less than 0.3% Delta 9 THC).

Our Cannabinoid-infused products are similar to THC-infused products found in dispensaries. We infuse products with the same type of extracts and distillates, but with lower THC concentration, and offer a wide selection of Cannabinoid-specific formulations. We follow Good Manufacturing Practices, provide supplement facts, list product ingredients, and lab test our products for purity and potency.

Our Process: We formulate our cannabis products based on our understanding of the whole plant approach, meaning we appreciate all the cannabinoids, aroma and flavor molecules, amino acids, proteins, and oils the plant has to offer. We infuse with cannabis extracts that have been tested for purity and potency, use organic ingredients, and source locally grown plant material.

MADE IN CHICAGO

Our mission is to create a cannabis company that Chicagoans can be proud of. We are building a company rooted in accountability, transparency, and workplace satisfaction in which workers share accountability for the work, authority over how goals are met, discretion over resource use, and ownership of information and knowledge related to the work. Thank you for your support in this journey!

OUR VALUES

Worker-Owned: As a worker-owned company, all candidates who are accepted into Chicago Cannabis Company have the potential to become owners of the company. The Members of Chicago Cannabis Company have chosen to form a worker cooperative because they believe that worker cooperatives contribute to a more just society and to more just and healthy workplaces.

Equity-Focused: Our mission is to build an inclusive cannabis cooperative and to provide economic opportunities for small farmers, disadvantaged communities, and Chicago’s neighborhoods that have been negatively impacted by “the war on drugs”. We are working with community organizations whose efforts are aligned with this mission and provide technical assistance and training in Disproportionately Impacted Areas.

Quality First: From developing high-quality products to sourcing from responsible suppliers, we take quality control seriously. We aim to be a good partner that can support Midwest farmers as we grow, providing our customers with high-quality, organically grown, and locally sourced cannabis products.

Cooperation & Collaboration: We bring a collaborative approach to our work. We practice self-management and promote community and local development. We work with other Chicago-based businesses to create unique, one-of-a-kind products.
