What's the difference between indoor grown cannabis flowers and outdoor grown? The main difference is outdoor uses the sun, whereas indoor uses artificial lighting to facilitate photosynthesis. Both methods are effective for different reasons.
For example, if growing solely for the purpose of cannabinoid production for commercial-scale extracts, distillates, or isolates, then outdoors is more efficient.
If growing for high-quality smokable flower, craft concentrates, or solventless extraction, then growing indoors can be more effective. This is due to the fact of having greater control over the growing environment like temperature, humidity, airflow, and the amount and duration of light. Therefore, flowers cultivated indoors will generally be higher quality than outdoor grown (although, that's not always the case).
The quality of cannabis largely relies on terpene content, moisture content, flavonoids, and balanced cannabinoid profile. Thankfully, the farmers we work with have at least a decade of growing experience.
What can you expect with indoor grown flowers? Slightly smaller buds and the trichomes will be more intact due to less exposure to wind and rain, which means better preserved CBD and terpene content.
Users may find it useful to blend their CBD-rich flower with their THC-rich flower. CBD can lessen the psychoactivity of THC, reducing the "high feeling," while extending the medical benefits of THC. When consumed together, CBD and THC form the "entourage effect" or a synergy that magnifies the effects of both components. Make your cannabis go further by incorporating CBD hemp into your cannabis consumption.
"Higher amounts of THC can induce a panic attack or deepen depression especially in newcomers to cannabis-based therapies or in people very sensitive to THC. The presence of substantial amounts of CBD can reduce the adverse effect risk potential of THC and CBD rich cannabis types (and > 0.3%THC) can produce an uplift in mood relevant to both anxiety and depression safely and without the adverse effects risk commonly associated with THC or THC abundant chemotypes." -- Uwe Blesching Ph.D.
