We wanted to create a convenient way to carry vape batteries and cartridges, but we didn't want to use plastic or simply order cases from China. Instead, we collaborated with Chicago-based Early Native Studio, a 3-D printing studio specializing in eco-friendly manufacturing, to create a set of Vape Packs using hemp and wood-based bioplastic filament.
Bioplastics are plastics derived from renewable biomass or agricultural "waste" material, for example, hemp biomass.
Due to the rapid growth of the legal cannabis industry, there is a growing concern over packaging that is unnecessarily wasteful. While we work to help cultivators reduce waste through more sustainable cultivation practices, we must also address the environmental impact of excessive use of fossil-fuel plastics in cannabis packaging.
With this issue in mind, we chose to work with Early Native Studio because of their localized approach to manufacturing; creating local 3-D printing hubs that can manufacture products on-demand can reduce overall emissions, not just by reducing wasted inventory but also by eliminating the need to transport goods from further away.
Each Vape Pack is produced locally using recycled, bioplastic material. Vape packs can accommodate two (2) standard 510 thread cartridges and one (1) standard, slim vape battery (up to 0.45 inches in diameter and 3.66 inches in length without the cartridge). You can also purchase the vape pack with a battery.
